Purpose of the Job

: Ensure Equipment availability to produce quality product in a safe working environment at higher efficiency and optimal cost also to improve production facilities, reduce the incidence of costly breakdowns and develop strategies to improve overall reliability and safety of plant, personnel and production processes.

Major Responsibilities

:


Coordinate with Manufacturing and ensure the equipment availability in a safe working condition.


Responsible for the entire Mechanical Maintenance aspects of the manufacturing facility.


Up keeping of equipment by implementation of preventive maintenance programs


Troubleshooting of broken down systems

Coordinate with central engineering functions like utilities, electrical and electronics functions to address equipment concerns

Establish and monitor programs for equipment analysis and condition monitoring techniques

Review deficiencies noted during corrective maintenance

Generation of engineering change reports.

Co-ordinate JH activities within the BU

Ensure targets of equipment availability, MTBR and MTBF are met

Maintains stock, use and disposition of stock items, surplus items, and rental equipment

Optimize work processes, adapt maintenance tools and procedures to improve equipment utilization and reliability, and minimize service quality incidents.

Coordinate 5S and IMS activities

Participation in improvement activities like Kaizen, QCC and innovation programs

Provide feedback on supplier performance

Knowledge (Technical / Functional):

Exposure to modern maintenance techniques

Exposure to operation of utilities, co-generation, air compressors etc. (desirable)

Exposure to Six Sigma & TPM Tools

Knowledge in safety requirements for major turnaround and maintenance activities

Overall knowledge of Production Process

Technical knowledge of operation of machine in tyre industry

Knowledge on SAP systems

Relevant Experience

: 6 - 8 years of experience

Education Qualification(s)

: B.Tech/BE (Preferred Mechanical Engineering)
