Purpose of the Job

:

Tyre Product Development Engineer responsible for designing, developing, validating, and improving tyre products to meet performance, durability, cost, regulatory, and customer requirements. The role involves close coordination with design, manufacturing, testing, quality, and marketing teams to deliver competitive solutions.

Major Responsibilities

:

Design and develop new products in OHT category.

Define tyre construction parameters, tread pattern and compound selection based on performance requirements and application condition.

Optimise tyre performance attributes including mileage, durability, traction and any other specific requirements.

Owning the product development activities from project brief to the commercial release with the coordination among different stake holders.


Carry out product improvement activities during product life cycle time based on the performance feedback.

Prepare technical specifications, design reports, test summaries and SOP's

Benchmark product study & analysis and reporting.

Cross Functional Activities :-

Participating in OHT CFT for New Product development.

Coordination with R&D technology team,product marketing, customer service, plant technology for the product development activities and product industrialisation.

KPI:

New Product development completion rate, on time project delivery, develop first time right, Time to market, Number of new sizes/ patterns developed.

Knowledge (Technical / Functional):

1. Tyre design and engineering

2. Strong understanding of tyre construction, materials and trade-offs


3. Familiarity with tyre testing standards, regulatory requirements and validations.
