Job Purpose:




To ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation of all utility systems including steam, compressed air, nitrogen, cooling water, chilled water, chilled brine, water treatment, cooling systems, HVAC etc. to support safe and sustainable chemical manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities:



1. Operation & Maintenance of Utility Systems:



Manage day-to-day operations of all utility systems: boilers, air compressors, chillers (chilled water & chilled brine), cooling towers, water treatment plants (RO, DM), and HVAC systems. Monitor parameters and ensure optimal operating efficiency. Ensure uninterrupted supply of utilities to process areas with minimal downtime.

2. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance:



Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules.
Conditioned based maintenance - Familiar with various techniques - vibration measurement , laser alignment , NDT, UT, MPT , welder qualification .
Coordinate with maintenance teams SME (subject matter expert) for timely execution of maintenance activities. Troubleshoot utility equipment and systems during breakdowns can do detail RCA and implement corrective actions /preventive action accrodingly.

3. Compliance & Safety:



Ensure compliance with statutory and environmental regulations related to boilers, emissions, water discharge, and energy use. Maintain records as per legal requirements (e.g., boiler docs as per IBR, water quality reports). Follow safety protocols and promote safe work practices within the utility section.

4. Project Implementation:



Participate in the installation and commissioning of new utility equipment. Support energy efficiency and cost-saving initiatives. Assist in capacity enhancement or infrastructure upgrade projects.

5. Energy Monitoring and Efficiency:



Monitor energy consumption (steam, electricity, water, air). Identify areas for improvement and implement energy-saving initiatives. Prepare daily/weekly/monthly utility consumption and performance reports.

Key Skills & Competencies:



Strong knowledge of utility systems in a chemical or process industry. Hands-on experience with PLC for utility operation. Familiarity with statutory regulations (e.g., Boiler Act IBR, Pollution Control Board norms). Good analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work in a cross-functional team and under pressure. Computer skill MS Office and SAP

Qualifications & Experience:



Qualification:

B.E./B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering. *

Experience:

min 7 years in Utility Operations & Maintenance in a chemical/process plant environment.
