The Inventory Focal will be responsible for end-to-end control, tracking, and optimization of the company's container inventory across ports, ICDs, depots, and transit locations. The role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder coordination, operational rigor, and system accuracy to ensure fleet availability, reduce ageing, and support smooth operations across all locations.
Key Responsibilities

Monitor daily inventory for Empty, Laden, Import, Export, and In-Transit units across all locations.
Track long-staying units on a weekly basis and coordinate with ports, ICDs, and depots for movement or redeployment.
Monitor transshipment units weekly and follow up with offices fortnightly for pending transit updates.
Ensure accurate and timely daily updates of On-Hire and Off-Hire units and follow up with respective locations for discrepancies.
Follow up with Leasing Company to ensure the leased containers are delivered as per planned.
Maintain ageing buckets and highlight high-risk units for corrective action.
Support empty repositioning planning and redeployment based on trade and forecast requirements.
Issue long-standing alerts to all Indian ports and ensure timely action until closure.
Coordinate container sale cases, repossession activity, and coastal/liner reallocation of equipment.
Prepare weekly consolidated inventory and idling reports for internal and commercial review.
Prepare monthly reports including Demurrage/Detention, Lease Rent, Coastal vs. Liner allocation updates, and Re-export units (>180 days).
Conduct discrepancy checks, review documents for accuracy, and ensure timely rectification.
Ensure complete alignment between physical container movement and system updates, maintaining high EDI/system sync accuracy.
Monitor, investigate, and resolve EDI failures, mismatch reports, and system integration issues.
Check and approve lease rental bills and coordinate with stakeholders for any clarifications.
Ensure adherence to company SOPs and secure necessary approvals for any strategic or operational changes.
Coordinate daily with Operations, M&R, Depots, Commercial, Ports, and Logistics teams for smooth execution and container readiness.
Manage stakeholder expectations, maintain strong communication with internal/external partners, and ensure timely escalations when required.
Execute any additional duties assigned by senior management from time to time.
