Job Purpose:

The Executive - QA Lab is responsible for metallurgical, mechanical and corrosion testing to ensure product quality and compliance with customer and industry standards. The role also also contributes to alloy design, development, characterization and simulation to enhance processes and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Daily Planning for metallography and mechanical testing of samples. Perform metallographic examination of samples. Conduct tensile and impact and corrosion testing as per applicable standards. Support in all QMS activities and product/customer certifications for ESR and Forging. Coordinate and execute testing of customer and third-party witness samples. Route cause analysis of complaint sample and CAPA. Prepare, review and issue material test certificate. Ensure Compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and NABL guidelines. Contribute to alloy design, material development and process optimization using simulation and modelling.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

B.Tech. / Diploma (Metallurgy / Mechanical) / B.Sc. (PCM).

Experience:

Minimum 1 year for B.Tech. candidates; Minimum 7 years for Diploma / B.Sc. candidates.

Industry Background:

Experience in Steel Mill or Open Die Forging industry.

Technical Expertise:

Metallography of alloy steels, stainless steels, heat-resisting steels, tool steels, Iron and nickel-based superalloys. Knowledge of alloy design, material characterization, simulation & modelling.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of metallurgical, mechanical and corrosion testing standards (ASTM, ISO, JIS, DIN). Hands-on experience in microstructural examinations, grain size analysis, inclusion rating and mechanical & corrosion testing. Exposure to simulation and modelling tools for casting, forging and heat treatment. Experience in internal and external audits. Ability to develop and implement quality lab procedures, SOPs, and QMS documentation. Proficiency in preparing technical reports and test certificates. Strong teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. Strong focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement in testing processes.
