Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for monitoring and implementing workplace health, safety, and environmental standards to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and organizational policies. The role ensures a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors by promoting a strong safety culture.

About the Role:

Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in line with legal and organizational requirements. Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions. Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and client requirements. Provide safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for employees and contractors. Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, preparing reports and recommending preventive measures. Maintain and update safety documentation, permits, and statutory records. Monitor use of PPE, safety equipment, and emergency procedures. Coordinate with site management, supervisors, and contractors to ensure safe project execution. Assist in developing and updating emergency response and evacuation plans. Report safety performance, KPIs, and compliance issues to management regularly.

About You:

Proven experience as

safety manager

Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies Good knowledge of data analysis and risk assessment Excellent organizational and motivational skills Outstanding attention to detail and observation ability Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities BSc/ safety management or relevant field is preferred Valid qualification in occupational health and safety
