Summary The Insights and Decision Science (IDS) team is dedicated to enabling improved decision-making at Novartis by leveraging data and advanced analytics capabilities to generate actionable insights that drive business growth. We collaborate closely with the US business, bringing insights and challenging ideas to empower smarter, data-driven decision-making. The Executive Director Core Data Enablement will be responsible for overseeing the direction, management, and execution of data warehousing and analytics enablement initiatives.
By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the role will ensure the effective collection, storage, and analysis of data, which are critical for business operations, decision-making, and compliance. Additionally, the ED plays a critical role in fostering innovation, assessing feasibility, and effectively communicating product vision and strategy to stakeholders with a strong foundation in data management, data integrity, and advanced analytics.

Major Accountabilities
Leadership: Provide vision and direction for data warehousing and analytics initiatives, aligning them with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
Data Management: Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of data warehousing systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
Analytics Enablement: Facilitate the use of advanced analytics tools and techniques to extract valuable insights from data, supporting various business functions.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to understand their data needs and ensure that data solutions meet those requirements.
Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics and KPIs to monitor the effectiveness of data warehousing and analytics initiatives, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance.
Key Performance Indicators
Data Quality: Measure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data within the data warehouse.
System Performance: Work with DDIT and Vendors to ensure system performance according to user needs
User Satisfaction: Assess the satisfaction levels of internal stakeholders and end-users with the data warehousing and analytics solutions.
Project Delivery: Monitor the timely and successful completion of data warehousing and analytics projects.
Cost Efficiency: Evaluate the cost-effectiveness of data warehousing and analytics operations.
Innovation: Measure the implementation of new technologies and methodologies in data warehousing and analytics.
Compliance: Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.
AI Enablement: Create roadmap, meta data management, creation of data asset in line with direction set by Heads of Innovation and Emerging data products
AI Enablement: Team engagement, Talent Development and management of KPIs such as GLINT, Retention
Essential Requirement
Novartis seeks an individual with extensive experience in leading product management and development operations within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Deep understanding of data mastering, data integrations and product lifecycle management. A commitment to leveraging data-driven insights to enhance strategy is essential to this role.
Bachelor's & Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
Extensive 18 to 25year of experience in data warehousing, data management, and analytics, with a proven track record of leading successful data initiatives.
Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data integration principles.
Proficiency in data warehousing technologies, database management systems, and analytics tools. Knowledge of SQL, ETL processes, and data modeling is essential.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong analytical & problem sloving abilities
