Job Description

IIM Nagpur is looking for a qualified and experienced Executive - Admissions for the admissions process of various Degree Granting Programmes of the Institute. Executive - Admissions will manage the department's regular operations, end-to-end execution of the admission cycle for various academic programs offered by IIM Nagpur.


Brief about the Admissions Department:



The admissions department has a crucial role in attracting top-quality applicants and admitting them for all the Degree Granting programmes. The department's role is to formulate policies, systems and processes that provide a competitive edge for IIM Nagpur to grow as the number one choice among MBA and Management degree aspirants.

Qualification and Experience:




Applicant should have a Post-Graduate Degree in any discipline, preferably in Management or Statistics, from a reputed Institute/university. At least 6 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 2-3 years of work experience in the admissions department of any higher education institute or a private business school directly related to admissions in multiple degree-granting programs. Work experience of managing end-to-end MBA admissions through CAT in IIMs/IITs/Private B-Schools of high repute/NITs is desirable.

Desirables:




Thorough understanding of MBA admissions in CAP and/or coordinating the CAT-based internal admission process for MBA. At least 2 years of overall experience in a supervisory role managing a team of at least 3 resources. Experience in handling admissions, registrations, and allied academic activities. Demonstrated ability to handle a few thousand applicants' data from multiple programs with varied sizes. Working knowledge of Application portal development. Experience in giving inputs for outreach initiatives as per the program's target applicant pool and considering various application stages.

Age:

Up to 32 Years as on the closing date of the application.


Role Summary and Key Responsibilities:





The Executive - Admissions will independently lead and manage the end-to-end cycle of the admission process for the institute's long-duration programmes. The role requires a self-driven professional capable of handling the entire process independently. This pivotal role demands strong data analysis capabilities, advanced technical proficiency, and the ability to oversee complex workflows under tight deadlines, as well as effective oral and written communication skills. Acting as the liaison among faculty, external stakeholders, and support staff, the Executive will ensure that the admissions process is efficient, accurate, and aligned with the Institute's strategic objectives and completed within stipulated timelines. High level of integrity, dedication, passion for learning, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Willingness to travel for admissions-related activities as required.


Key Responsibilities:




Admissions Process Management:




Lead end-to-end admissions operations for degree-granting programmes, including application screening, interview coordination (PI/WAT), and the final selection process. Coordinate the entire admission process, from policy inputs to final registration. Conduct document verification, send provisional offer letters, and track payments. Manage the registration process, verify declarations/annexures, and handle the return of original documents. Ensure strict adherence to admission policies and compliance requirements.

Data Analysis & Reporting:




Analyse admissions data to provide critical policy inputs to the Admissions Committee. Perform detailed data analysis and reporting using advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, macros) and other analytical tools. Prepare management reports, dashboards, and presentations summarising admission status, trends, and analytics.

Stakeholder Coordination & Communication:




Act as the primary coordinator for faculty, panel members, and external/third parties for interview scheduling and process improvements. Coordinate logistics arrangements for selection processes (e.g., PI, WAT). Manage communications with professionalism and empathy with various stakeholders.

Operational Oversight & Budgeting:




Prepare and manage budgets for the admissions office, covering all programmes Able to manage advertising and outreach through digital and print media. Update and maintain digital platforms, admission databases, and software systems with high accuracy.

Team Guidance & Process Improvement:




Guide, mentor, and monitor Junior Executives and support staff, effectively delegating responsibilities and ensuring timely, high-quality deliverables. Identify process bottlenecks and recommend automation or technical improvements for enhanced efficiency. Experience in maintaining confidentiality in the regular operations of the department and while handling admissions data. Should have experience of building a work culture of non-negotiable confidentiality in all matters of admissions and ensuring the same with team members.

Key Skills:




Should possess interpersonal skills and the ability to delegate work & monitor the progress of the reporting team members. Demonstrated ability to interface with internal faculty, external faculty and panellists for smooth conduct of admissions process. Excellent IT skills with expertise in PowerPoint, Word, and Google Applications (Gmail, Drive). Exceptional proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros). Strong data analysis skills and a basic understanding of software/server design logic Ability to contribute to admissions policy changes. Excellent written and verbal communication, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and proven multi-tasking abilities.

Salary & Benefits

:



Selected candidate will be offered a fixed-term appointment of Two years on IIM Nagpur contract on a consolidated monthly salary commensurate with qualification and experience. In addition to this the perks & allowances will be paid as per Institute norms.



The contract may be extended further based on performance/satisfactory discharge of duties and the Institute's requirements.
