Position: Execution Engineer - OHE

Location: Mumbai

Project: 25kV OHE Works (Metro Rail / Suburban / Mainline Railway)

Engagement: Full-time, posted at project site till completion of Design-Build Period

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification:

Graduate in Electrical Engineering with minimum 10 years of total work experience, OR

Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 15 years of total work experience

Relevant Similar Experience:

Graduate - Minimum 5 years in execution of 25kV OHE works

Diploma - Minimum 10 years in execution of 25kV OHE works

Experience should specifically include Metro Rail / Suburban / Mainline Railway projects

Exposure to 66kV & above GIS-based systems will be an added advantage

Deployment Requirement:

Candidate must be available within 1 month of LOA

Must be stationed full-time in Mumbai, exclusively for this project

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Execution & Supervision

Execute installation, erection, testing, and commissioning of 25kV OHE systems as per approved drawings and standards.

Supervise foundation, mast erection, bracket assembly, wiring, and sectioning works at site.

Ensure strict compliance with RDSO, Indian Railways, IEC, IS codes, and client specifications.

Monitor day-to-day execution activities, ensuring quality and safety at all stages.

2. Planning & Coordination

Prepare work schedules, bar charts, and progress reports in coordination with the Project Manager.

Coordinate with civil, power supply, and signaling teams for interface activities.

Ensure timely mobilization of manpower, materials, and machinery.

Conduct regular site review meetings with subcontractors and supervisors.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance

Verify materials and components received at site as per inspection and test plans (ITPs).

Conduct field quality checks including tightening, torqueing, clearances, and alignments.

Maintain complete documentation - WIRs, inspection notes, test certificates, and checklists.

Assist QA/QC teams in internal audits, client inspections, and third-party verification.

4. Safety & Statutory Compliance

Enforce safety protocols in accordance with Railway/Metro guidelines.

Conduct toolbox talks, job safety analysis, and risk assessments for OHE works.

Ensure compliance with electrical safety codes, PPE usage, and environmental standards.

5. Testing & Commissioning

Assist in section proving tests, continuity checks, insulation resistance testing, and voltage measurements.

Coordinate with client/consultant during charging and energization activities.

Ensure smooth handover of completed sections with all necessary documentation.

Technical Skills & Competencies

Thorough knowledge of 25kV OHE installation techniques, including:

Foundations, mast erection, bracket assembly, and wiring

Section insulators, neutral sections, isolators, and ATD systems

Cantilever adjustments, stagging, and registration

Familiarity with SCADA, GIS substations, and power supply systems.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting OHE drawings, layouts, and cross-sections.

Knowledge of project management tools (MS Project/Primavera) and reporting formats.

Strong leadership and team-handling skills for supervising site engineers, supervisors, and technicians.

Documentation & Deliverables

Daily site progress reports, manpower deployment logs, and material usage records.

Quality checklists, inspection reports, and joint measurement records.

Safety audit reports and incident/near-miss documentation.

Testing and commissioning protocols with client sign-off.

Final handover documentation for completed OHE works.

Other Requirements

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making ability.

Willingness to work under challenging site conditions, extended hours, and tight deadlines.

Commitment to remain posted full-time in Mumbai till project completion.
