Job Description

A Events Sales Manager is a senior-level professional responsible for generating revenue by securing and managing strategic partnerships for events, organizations, or media properties. In 2025, this role increasingly demands a blend of traditional sales acumen and sophisticated digital marketing skills to demonstrate measurable ROI to partners.

Core Responsibilities



Revenue Generation:

Identifying and securing new sponsorship deals and managing renewal cycles to meet or exceed annual revenue targets.

Strategic Matchmaking:

Researching potential sponsors to ensure brand alignment and crafting bespoke value-led proposals that solve specific marketing objectives.

Relationship Management:

Building and nurturing long-term partnerships with C-suite executives and senior decision-makers.

Contract Negotiation:

Managing the end-to-end sales cycle, from initial pitch and contract negotiation to final closure and payment terms.

Internal Collaboration:

Working with marketing, operations, and product teams to ensure all sponsorship deliverables (activations, branding, hospitality) are executed as promised.

Essential Skills & Qualifications



Technical Proficiency:

Mastery of CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) for pipeline forecasting and data-driven lead management.

Analytical Thinking:

Ability to interpret audience demographics, psychographics, and post-event metrics to prove ROI to sponsors.

Creativity:

Developing innovative sponsorship "activations" (e.g., AI-powered experiences or VR integration) rather than just selling logos on a banner.

Education:

Typically requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience:

Most senior roles in 2025 require

5-10 years

of experience in B2B event sales, media, or sports marketing.
