The Event Support supervisor will be multi-skilled and deployed across the network and work across multiple stations and lines
The Event Support supervisor will support out-of-course events, emergencies, and degraded operations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise a team of Event support staff ensuring their attendance and performance on the ground as per their responsibilities
Always provide a world-class service being highly knowledgeable to provide proactive assistance, guidance, and information to customers primarily related to Events
Supervise the event team staff and ensure smooth crowd management and queuing at all the time
Provide assistance for customers in wayfinding and Event information
Assist the person in charge of the event in stations to ensure the smooth flow of customers and manage the crowd
Assist customers, security, and Station Masters when the service is in degraded and emergency modes, including station evacuations and out-of-course events
Ensuring all relevant staff are well briefed about scheduled events and pre-agreed arrangements
Communicate with the event manager during the event, before and after the event if necessary
Carry out any other task or work assigned by the Station Master/ person in charge of Events
QHSE accountabilities
Promote a positive Quality, Health, and Safety, and Environment driven culture always in the workplace and attend any related meetings/briefings as required within the job role
In conjunction with the HSE&CSR Manager, ensure that all incidents including 'near misses' are properly reported and recorded to determine the root causes
Ensure that all potential risks that may come from performed activities are identified and mitigated and ensure that employees, contractors, and visitors are aware of health and safety procedures and any relevant legislation.
Be mindful that Health and Safety, Quality, Security, and Environmental is everyone's responsibility and as such, All staff members are accountable for reporting and intervening in Health and Safety, Quality, Security and Environmental violations
Required core skills and experience
5 years experience in a world-class customer service environment
Minimum of 2 years experience in managing teams in a world class customer service environment
Event Support Supervisor
Previous event and crowd management experience preferred
Preferred experience using and communicating through radio professionally
Proven ability to achieve sustainable results and take a hands-on approach
Demonstrate the ability to meet standards to meet the customers' expectations
Strong people-facing and communication skills
Highly motivated team player with sound customer service skills
Handles difficult and emergency situations well and in a calm manner
Handles challenging customer interactions in a professional and calm manner
Thinks like a customer in everything they do at work
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Previous event management experience preferred
Awareness of safety concerns and risk management
Ability to provide positive customer service
Awareness of, and appreciation for, individual uniqueness and diversity leadership and teamwork
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate using tetra radio
Experience in supervising/managing large teams
