Used Car Evaluator - Key Duties & Responsibilities

Vehicle Inspection & Evaluation

Conduct thorough physical inspection of used vehicles, including body, engine, chassis, interior, electrical, and suspension components. Check for signs of accidents, repainting, modifications, or replacements. Perform test drives (if applicable) to assess mechanical and driving conditions.

Valuation & Pricing

Estimate accurate market value of the vehicle based on model, age, mileage, condition, and market trends. Compare with market listings, auction data, and internal sales history to fix fair purchase or trade-in value. Provide detailed evaluation reports with justification for pricing.

Documentation & Verification

Verify authenticity and completeness of documents such as RC book, insurance, tax receipts, pollution certificate, and service history. Ensure chassis and engine numbers match the documents. Check for hypothecation or pending dues with authorities.

Reporting & Coordination

Prepare and submit vehicle evaluation reports to sales or purchase departments for decision-making. Coordinate with sales executives, purchase officers, and customers during evaluation and negotiation stages. Maintain proper records of all vehicles inspected and their valuation details.

Customer Interaction

Communicate professionally with customers during vehicle inspection. Explain the valuation findings and provide transparent reasoning for quoted prices.

Market Research

Keep updated knowledge of used car prices, new car model launches, and depreciation patterns. Monitor competitor pricing and market movements.

Quality & Process Compliance

Follow company guidelines and standard evaluation formats. Ensure fairness, accuracy, and transparency in every vehicle assessment.
