The ETP Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the Effluent Treatment Plant to ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards. The role involves daily operation of treatment processes, monitoring water quality, maintaining records, and ensuring smooth functioning of equipment.
Operate and monitor ETP equipment such as pumps, blowers, clarifiers, filters, aeration systems, and dosing units.
Carry out routine inspections of plant operations to ensure proper treatment of wastewater.
Monitor and record operational data including pH, TDS, BOD, COD, MLSS, dissolved oxygen, flow rate, and turbidity.
Adjust chemical dosing, flow rates, and process parameters as required.
Conduct basic water and wastewater testing in coordination with laboratory staff.
Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and report major faults to maintenance team.
Ensure safe handling, storage, and usage of treatment chemicals.
Maintain daily operation logs, reports, and compliance records.
Ensure adherence to environmental regulations, company policies, and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) standards.
Support in audits, inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma / ITI / Certificate in Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering (preferred).
Minimum 2-4 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations (ETP/STP).
Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes (physical, chemical, biological).
Ability to operate laboratory testing instruments for wastewater parameters.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Good record-keeping and reporting ability.
Safety-conscious and environmentally aware.
Work Conditions
Plant-based role with shifts (day/night as per schedule).
Exposure to industrial wastewater, chemicals, and outdoor working conditions.
Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is mandatory.
