ETP Operator - Indo Amines Limited, Badlapur PlantPosition Summary

The

ETP Operator

is responsible for the efficient and compliant operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant at Indo Amines Limited's Badlapur facility, ensuring wastewater generated from surfactant and specialty chemical production meets regulatory discharge standards and environmental compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations and Process Control



Monitor and control ETP processes including equalization, neutralization, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and biological treatment (aeration and sludge handling) Operate pumps, blowers, mixers, clarifiers, sludge drying beds, and chemical dosing systems Record influent and effluent parameters (pH, BOD, COD, TSS, flow rate) and adjust dosing and aeration rates accordingly Maintain pH control and equalized quality of wastewater leaving physical treatment processes Ensure optimum chemical dosage and timely removal of sludge to maintain treatment efficiency

Quality Control and Monitoring

Conduct routine sampling at various treatment stages and perform on-site tests Prepare daily water quality reports and maintain accurate operation logs Monitor online systems and basic laboratory testing techniques Ensure compliance with Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) discharge standards and environmental regulations

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Perform preventive maintenance including cleaning filters, inspecting pipelines, calibrating dosing pumps, and backwashing media beds Troubleshoot treatment issues such as low MLSS, foaming, poor settling, and implement corrective actions Conduct routine maintenance of ETP units including oiling and greasing Report equipment malfunctions immediately to supervisors and coordinate repairs

Safety and Chemical Handling

Ensure safe handling and storage of treatment chemicals (coagulants, flocculants, neutralizing agents) Maintain housekeeping in ETP area and ensure all safety interlocks and alarms are functional Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), environmental regulations, and internal EHS guidelines Manage proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols

Documentation and Compliance

Maintain shift handover notes and compliance documentation Manage sludge disposal and coordinate with external contractors for hazardous waste removal Submit quarterly compliance statements to MPCB with documentary evidence Record daily readings and maintain logbooks of plant operations

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Requirements

ITI

or

Diploma

in Chemical/Environmental Engineering, or

B.Sc.

in Chemistry/Environmental Science Additional certifications from recognized bodies in environmental management or wastewater treatment preferred

Experience Requirements

2-5 years

of experience in ETP/STP/VTP operations in a chemical or manufacturing environment Understanding of wastewater treatment unit operations and discharge norms Experience in chemical process operations, ideally within surfactant or specialty chemical industry

Technical Knowledge

Knowledge of online monitoring systems and basic laboratory testing techniques Understanding of microbiology and environmental chemistry Experience in sampling and testing water quality parameters Basic knowledge of machinery used for wastewater treatment and pumping systems

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹26,000.00 per month
