ETL Test Engineer II, RELX India

About the Role

As ETL Test Engineer you will be expected to perform manual and automation testing in validating data sources, extraction of data, applying transformation logic. This position works with management to apply automation strategy coupled with programming skills to plan and execute effective and efficient automation testing to accomplish on-time and efficient delivery of high-quality software products and/or data.

Responsibilities

The Quality Test Engineer is responsible to perform end-to-end Quality Control and Quality Assurance activities for the project.

• To understand product requirements and develop test plan, test cases, execute tests and reporting of defects.
• Experience in Data process automation / regression testing frameworks using selenium- Python.
• Automation of test processes using Python programming language.
• Good Experience working with data transformation and data testing,
• Good knowledge on SQL server
• Exposure of working on CI\\CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub etc.
• Integration of various testing suites in DevOps software delivery pipeline.
• Experience in testing systems that capture, verify, and maintain field generated metadata.
• Familiarity with multiple back-end and front-end languages and libraries, databases, database design, web servers, web services, APIs, and UI/UX design.
• Assist fellow team members in resolving technical issues.
• Recommend improvements or corrections to developers or system analysts.
• To work with Developers, Product Owners, Product Analysts, and other test team members for to complete testing tasks
• To provide feedback to the development team and ensure the work is carried out in accordance with the schedule and the quality requirements.
• Expected to undertake other duties.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have the following skills/characteristics:

• Graduate or above, in a computer related discipline
• 4+ years of experience in software testing
• Strong ETL testing background.
• 4+ years of experience with coding using python for data testing by creating automated solutions.
• Exposure to DevOps practices (CI/CD)
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix operating system
• Experience of working with databases and writing SQL queries

The following would also be advantageous:

• Programming or development background is strongly preferred.
• Exposure of working of CI\\CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins etc.
• Exposure of working with automated ETL testing tools such as ETL Validator or Query Surge etc.
• Exposure to various cloud technologies
