Job Title: ETL Developer

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced

Data Transformation Specialists

to join our team on a critical staff augmentation project focused on the

replacement and modernization of core Mizuho internal systems

. The role requires

5 or more years

of specialized experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing end-to-end data pipelines.

As a proactive individual, you will go beyond execution, taking full ownership of the data lifecycle. You will be responsible for translating complex, often implicit, business requirements into scalable data architectures and ensuring data integrity and quality across all transformation processes within a rigorous banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Pipeline Design and Implementation

Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines

(ETL/ELT) to extract data from various source systems, transform it into business-relevant information, and load it into target systems.

Integrate and normalize data

from diverse sources, including operational databases, external APIs, flat files, and legacy systems, ensuring suitability for downstream consumption.

Proactively elicit and structure often-implicit data requirements

from business units and product teams, translating them into clear, technical specifications and data transformation logic.

Define, design, and implement reusable, scalable data models

within the target system, following industry best practices for data warehousing and data architecture. Apply hands-on experience with

SQL

and general ETL tool concepts to develop robust and performant data processing solutions (specific tool experience is a plus, but adaptability is key).

Governance, Quality & Stakeholder Management

Define and enforce rigorous standardization

in all data transformation processes, including naming conventions, coding styles, table design, and data quality guidelines. Lead initiatives focused on

data quality, data lineage, and governance

, collaborating with architects, project managers, and the wider team.

Conduct thorough impact analysis

and effectively communicate the effect of data model changes or new data source introductions to all stakeholders.

Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation

covering data pipelines, data models, transformation logic, and design decisions. Collaborate with project managers and architects to

lead cross-functional initiatives

and mitigate risks associated with system integration.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Mandatory):

Experience:

Minimum

5 years of relevant experience

in IT system integration (SI) and project execution, specifically within the

Banking/Financial Services domain

.

Technical Foundation:

Expert-level command of

SQL

for complex data querying, manipulation, and optimization.

ETL Expertise:

Hands-on experience with the principles and practices of

ETL/ELT

and familiarity with leading ETL tools (specific tool not mandatory, but foundational knowledge is required).

Data Modeling:

Proven ability to

translate business logic into data architecture

and transformation processes.

Proactive Mindset:

Demonstrated

strong problem-solving skills

with a

proactive, self-starter mindset

Collaboration:

Comfortable working with

mission-critical systems

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Good-to-Have Skills

Domain Knowledge (Optional):

Basic knowledge of the

banking domain

, particularly related to deposits, trading systems, and familiarity with regulations (e.g., MAS regulations in Singapore).

Architecture:

Experience in

data architecture and warehouse design

Cloud/Big Data:

Databricks certification or equivalent credentials from major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Cultural:

Experience working with non-technical stakeholders or exposure to Japanese-oriented companies/clients and their business communication styles (Japanese language proficiency, JLPT N2 or above, is a strong plus).
Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: ₹120,000.00 - ₹140,000.00 per month
