Our client is an Australian company, a leader in their industry, seeking an experienced and highly skilled Estimator to join their team remotely from India.

Fixed 5-day working week, Monday to Friday, with a day shift

THE ROLE:

The ideal candidate will prepare accurate cost estimates, perform quantity take-offs, and manage project specifications for residential construction. They will coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams, handle purchase orders and quotes, and ensure documentation and costing comply with Australian building standards for custom homes and knockdown-rebuild projects.

Role & responsibilities:-

Read and interpret plans, identify internal and external features, and clearly define the scope of works for each project. Create, update, and maintain specifications for each job. Perform accurate quantity take-offs from construction plans. Prepare purchase orders and send quote requests to suppliers and contractors. Review, compare, and qualify quotes to ensure accuracy, value, and scope compliance. Update Buildxact cost catalogues, recipes, and estimate pricing for standard templated designs. Keep master job templates current and accurate. Prepare, send, and upload contractor and trade packs. Manage and update annual period agreements. Document procedures and internal processes. Prepare and circulate meeting minutes. Handle energy efficiency documentation and requirements. Prepare and manage fence share agreements. Conduct annual QBCC licence and compliance document checks. Maintain accurate database records. Manage Dial Before You Dig processes and documentation. Assist with general administrative and follow-up tasks related to estimating and project setup. Ensure all job-related documents are assigned, completed, and properly filed.

Preferred candidate profile:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in estimating, preferably in construction or building-related projects. Familiarity with Australian construction codes, standards, and regulations is preferred. Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. Experience with estimating software such as Buildxact or similar tools. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Expertise in organisational and documentation procedures. Strong communication and coordination skills with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote working environment.
