Estimator - Shipbuilding & Ship Repair

Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled

Estimator

with proven experience in

ship repair and shipbuilding projects

. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing technical specifications, and supporting the tendering and project execution process.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for

shipbuilding and ship repair projects

, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracting. Review

technical drawings, specifications, and client requirements

to assess project scope. Collaborate with

engineering, procurement, and operations teams

to ensure accurate and competitive pricing. Develop and maintain

cost databases, rate analyses, and benchmarks

. Support

tender submissions

and provide cost breakdowns and justifications. Identify potential

cost risks, savings opportunities, and alternative solutions

. Maintain strong knowledge of

shipyard operations, marine standards, and industry best practices

. Prepare reports and present cost estimates to management and clients.

Requirements:

Diploma / Degree in

Naval Architecture / Mechanical / Marine Engineering

or related field.

2 - 7 years of experience

in estimation within

shipbuilding or ship repair industry

. Strong understanding of

shipyard practices, marine equipment, and repair procedures

. Proficiency in

MS Office, AutoCAD, and estimation tools/software

. Excellent

analytical, negotiation, and communication skills

. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

Experience in

commercial bid preparation

for ship repair/retrofit projects. Knowledge of

classification society rules, IMO regulations, and safety standards

. Familiarity with

ERP systems

in shipyard operations
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
