Role Summary:
The Estimation Engineer for Interior Fit Outs will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out projects. This role involves analyzing project requirements, preparing detailed estimates, and working closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure all cost aspects are considered and communicated effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out projects.
Analyze project drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work.
Assess labor, material, and overhead costs to create comprehensive estimates.
Project Analysis:
Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and scope of work to identify potential cost implications.
Collaborate with architects, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
Conduct site visits if necessary to gather additional information and assess site conditions.
Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination:
Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Maintain relationships with vendors to stay updated on product costs and availability.
Bid Preparation:
Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals in response to client requests.
Ensure all bid documents are accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
Address any queries or clarifications required by clients during the bidding process.
Cost Control and Reporting:
Monitor project costs and provide regular reports to project managers and stakeholders.
Identify and report any discrepancies or deviations from the estimated costs.
Assist in the preparation of budget forecasts and financial reports.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with industry trends, pricing changes, and new materials or technologies.
Implement best practices and lessons learned from previous projects to improve estimation accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in cost estimation for interior fit-out projects.
Skills:
Proficiency in estimation software and tools.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
