This role involves analyzing project specifications, assessing material and labour costs, and collaborating with sales and engineering teams to develop competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities
1. Estimate Preparation
Analyse project specifications, P&IDs, datasheets, and instrumentation drawings.
Prepare detailed cost estimates for
instrumentation and fluid/flow control solutions
.
Identify and quantify all instruments, materials, labour, and equipment needed for the project.
2. Technical Evaluation
Assess the technical requirements of instrumentation systems to ensure compatibility with proposed solutions.
Liaise with suppliers/OEMs for pricing, technical clarifications, and lead times on instrumentation components.
3. Bid Development
Develop comprehensive technical and commercial bids.
Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to ensure estimates align with client requirements and project timelines.
4. Cost Analysis
Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and risk assessments specific to instrumentation and control systems.
Review and refine estimates based on project outcomes and historical cost data.
5. Client Interaction
Present and explain instrumentation estimates to clients.
Provide technical support during the bidding process and address client queries.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering (
Instrumentation, Mechanical
)
3+ years of experience
in estimation within the
instrumentation or fluid industry
Strong understanding of
instrumentation and fluid systems and components
Proficiency in
estimation software and tools
Excellent
analytical and communication skills
