Job Description

As a seasoned Oracle Apps DBA, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle E-Business Suite environments. You will play a key role in ensuring high availability, performance, and security of Oracle databases and applications, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business-critical operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation & Configuration:

+ Install, configure, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite (R12.x) and Oracle databases (11g/12c/19c).
+ Set up and manage multi-node RAC environments and ASM storage.

Maintenance & Support:

+ Perform patching (ADOP, CPU/PSU), cloning, backup, and recovery using RMAN.
+ Monitor and troubleshoot application and database issues including Concurrent Managers, Workflow, and Forms/Reports.

Performance & Optimization:

+ Conduct performance tuning of databases and applications.
+ Implement purging, archiving, and cloning strategies.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery:

+ Configure and manage Oracle Data Guard for standby setups and failover operations.
+ Ensure 24x7 uptime and participate in on-call support and weekend maintenance.

Automation & Scripting:

+ Develop and maintain Shell, Perl, SQL, and PL/SQL scripts for monitoring and reporting.
+ Automate routine DBA tasks and alerts.

Security & Compliance:

+ Enforce database security policies and access controls.
+ Ensure compliance with data governance and audit standards.

Documentation & Collaboration:

+ Maintain DBA runbooks, cloning procedures, and upgrade documentation.
+ Collaborate with developers, system admins, and business analysts.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

+ Oracle EBS R12 architecture, AD utilities (adpatch, adadmin, etc.)
+ Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, OEM
+ Linux/Unix environments and scripting
+ SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning

Certifications:

+ Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or equivalent preferred

Soft Skills:

+ Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership abilities
+ Ability to mentor junior DBAs and work in agile environments

Preferred Experience:

Experience with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure. etc.) Exposure to OBIEE, APEX and Oracle Fusion Middleware
