As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are seeking a highly motivated CFD engineer to join the India Centre of Excellence (CoE) Fluids and Thermals (F&T) team at Bangalore to perform fluid and thermal analyses using computational fluid dyanmics (CFD) numerical techniques. The candidate is expected to handle industrial projects that will require innovative thinking in executing different aspects of the CFD workflow including geometry preparation, meshing, solving, post processing the results using Siemens CFD tool such as Simcenter STAR-CCM+. The project will also entail generating a detailed report about the findings based on the simulation results obtained. This position will report directly to the F&T Engineering Services country manager. The successful applicant will interact and collaborate closely with the other team members while also communicating and presenting regular project updates to the project manager or ES manager or the Lead engineer. Qualified candidates should be self-motivated with dedicated customer centric focus along with excellent time management and problem-solving skills. The role is geared towards a candidate that appreciates diversity in workload, and the opportunity to learn and develop solutions and methodologies regardless of the industry sector. Ability to effectively deliver on projects in a business environment and willingness to learn new tools and techniques will be the desired skills that will be appreciated General skills required for this position: To have sound understanding of engineering fundamentals in Thermodynamics, Fluid mechanics, principles of Heat & Mass transfer along with preliminary understanding of the numerical techniques that CFD techniques are based on. The candidate should possess above average problem-solving skills that can be used for a vast application area coverage. It is expected that the candidate will demonstrate and adhere to very strict, and time sensitive deliverables schedule decided at start of the project. Hence the candidate should possess excellent time management skills. The candidate should be open to collaborate with colleagues within the country and globally as this role would involve supporting projects from outside the country of reporting. The candidate should be willing to work on different application areas which may sometimes lie outside the domain of expertise QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements include MS/M.Tech Degree, or greater, in Mechanical Engineering or related field with an academic exposure to Computational fluid dynamics (CFD). At least 1 to 3 years hands on experience in a professional work environment with an industrial Computational fluid dynamics software. Experience with Simcenter STAR-CCM+ will be considered as a huge plus. Good knowledge about concepts specific to CFD application areas such as related to External Aerodynamics, Underhood thermal management, Rotary motion and Conjugate heat transfer along with Radiation modelling. Good understanding of pre-processing techniques to prepare complex and dirty CAD for a CFD analysis. Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal and presentation Skills.
