Asset Management India Client & Product teams cover functions that span across the entire lifecycle of a client. Starting with Sales & Marketing, the group includes functions like Sales support, Product Strategy, Market Insight, Data Management & Governance, Data Delivery & Solutions and Business Intelligence & Analytics. The Product teams, comprising of Research analysts, Investment Specialists (IS) and Portfolio Management teams are responsible for providing additional insights to our securities coverage universe, strategy design, commercializing and monetizing our strategies. The Client Service group caters to functions like RFP, Onboarding, KYC, Client Reporting and Fund level Governance oversight functions involving Product administration, Board management, Funds registration, TA Service Delivery, Product implementation and vendor management services.

The current opening is within Research team in Mumbai which forms part of the Equities group within AM India Client and Product.

About the Role

The Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific Equities team (EMAP) is currently looking for a Research Analyst at an Associate level to cover the India/GEM Industrials sector.

The role will include working closely with senior regional Portfolio Managers, the DoRs and the broader analyst team. The responsibility of this role is to cover a broad base of Industrials stocks under the direction of the three aforementioned senior persons (including having financial forecasts, and managing interactions with both the company and sell-side analysts). Additionally the person is expected to provide timely macroeconomic, political and company insights.

Responsibilities Include:

• Research the companies within the India/GEM Industrials space, and recommend stocks.

• Create and utilizes financial models for investment valuation. Technical excel and modelling skills are essential.

• Make relative value comparisons and investment recommendations to portfolio managers.

• Collaborate and communicate with a global network of J.P. Morgan Asset Management analysts.

Desired Candidate Profile:

• Post graduate degree required, CFA preferred

• Successful candidates should have at least 5-7 years of relevant investment experience; with prior experience in Equity Research

• Key skills are analytical skill, measured investment judgement, decision-making, intellectual curiosity, intellectual honesty, teamwork, pro-active communication

• The role requires finding new investment ideas as well as thorough understanding, valuing and maintaining coverage on existing investments

• This is a demanding job requiring highly motivated individuals who are willing to work hard to build up their knowledge base, performance track record and credibility within the team.
