Investec is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Equity Research Analyst to join our Retail, Consumer and Leisure sector within the team. This role involves conducting comprehensive research on companies, sectors, and markets to support investment decisions and deliver actionable insights. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with UK leads and contribute to producing high-quality research reports and robust valuation models.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Research and Analysis:

Perform detailed analysis of financial statements, industry trends, and macroeconomic indicators. Evaluate companies' financial health, business models, and competitive positioning.

Financial Modeling & Valuation:

Build and maintain complex financial models (DCF, SOTP, relative valuation).Forecast earnings, cash flows, and key performance metrics.

Report Writing:

Prepare comprehensive research reports, investment theses, and sector updates.Draft concise summaries and recommendations for stakeholders.

Monitoring & Updates:

Track developments in assigned sectors, including earnings releases and regulatory changes.Update models and recommendations based on new information.

Collaboration:

Work with lead analysts and portfolio managers to align research with investment strategies. Participate in earnings calls and client discussions.

Education:

Master's degree in finance, CA, and/or progress towards CFA certification (Level I/II/III). is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 4 years in equity research or investment banking.

Technical Skills:

Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with financial data platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, Visible Alpha).

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.

Interpersonal Skills:

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across stakeholders.
