Job Description

The ideal candidate must be a postgraduate and possess strong background in credit assessment, equipment leasing, and portfolio management. Candidate will lead/build large teams working on EF transactions, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and internal risk policies.
Franchise and business development

• Liaise with top tier large and regional banks with the aim of generating new business in the EF space
• Liaise with business heads and business development team to identify opportunities and drive market outreach for EF offerings for clients
• Develop an account plan for identified target clients including insights on relevant businesses and their key decision makers
• Work closely with the members of the sales team on proposals, Requests for Proposal and Request for Information responses

Client Engagement

• As a subject matter expert in the EF space, lead customer facing meetings
• Responsible for understanding customer needs in EF risk assessment and portfolio monitoring
• Determine business and methodological requirements and architect solutions based on each client use case and product/service suite
• Engage in new client pilots, solution and review processes for new opportunities
• Develop, maintain and foster strong client relationships and lead multiple client engagements independently
• Document market feedback regarding experience with solutions and desired enhancements; actively manage client relationships and drive Net Promotor Scores and CSATs

Project and team management

• Lead/build large teams of analysts working on Equipment Finance (EF) portfolio including underwriting of equipment finance transactions (including operating leases, finance leases, hire purchase, and loan against equipment), asset valuation, covenant tracking and risk assessment for diverse equipment categories (construction, manufacturing, transportation, IT, healthcare, etc.).
• Lead evaluation of high-value equipment finance transactions, focusing on cash flow analysis, debt service coverage, and creditworthiness. Collaborate with asset management teams to evaluate Residual Value (RV) positions and equipment specific risks (obsolescence, maintenance, and market volatility).
• Undertake quality reviewing of outputs prepared by the team
• Ensure robust governance and oversight through appropriate workflow planning, resource utilization, quality assurance and client satisfaction
• Attract, develop and retain top quality staff to ensure a robust pipeline of talent

Essential

• MBA/CA/CFA
• 10-12 years of experience in commercial lending focussing on Equipment Finance
• Hands on experience in underwriting of equipment finance transactions (including operating leases, finance leases, hire purchase, and loan against equipment), asset valuation, covenant tracking and risk assessment for diverse equipment categories (construction, manufacturing, transportation, IT, healthcare, etc.).
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to equipment finance (e.g. Fair lending expectations, KYC/AML, OFAC screening, data privacy and documentation standards for secured lending).
• Working experience on industry standard systems like LeaseWave, LeaseAccelerator, TValue and Capital IQ etc.
• Understanding credit agreements of loans and summarizing key deal terms
• Training & mentoring junior colleagues along with reviewing, checking & overseeing and undertaking workflow planning
