Job Description

Operate and maintain environmental monitoring instruments such as

To carry out environmental monitoring, sampling, field measurements, and basic analysis of air, water, soil, noise, and other environmental parameters in compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory quality systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Environmental Sampling & Monitoring

Conduct ambient air quality, stack emission, water, wastewater, soil, noise, and vibration monitoring.Perform on-site sampling as per approved SOPs and standard methods (IS / ISO / APHA / CPCB / EPA).*
Ensure proper sample collection, preservation, labeling, and transportation.Maintain chain of custody records.*

. Field Instrument Handling_

Operate and maintain environmental monitoring instruments such as*
Air samplers (PM?? / PM?.?)*
Gas analyzers (SO?, NO?, CO)*
Sound Level MetersWater quality meters*
(pH, EC, DO, TDS)*
Perform daily checks, calibration verification, and basic troubleshooting.*

. Laboratory Support_

Assist in sample preparation, testing, and analysis under supervision.*
Record raw data, observations, and calculations accurately.*
Ensure adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).*

4.Documentation & Quality Compliance

Complete field data sheets, monitoring reports, logbooks, and checklists.*
Follow ISO/IEC 17025 quality procedures safety instructions, and SOPs.*
Report non-conformities, deviations, or equipment issues promptly.*

5. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Follow safety protocols, PPE usage, and risk assessments during fieldwork.*
Ensure safe handling of chemicals and equipment.*
Maintain housekeeping in laboratory and field kits.*

6. QualificationsEducational Qualification

B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Environmental Science / Chemistry .*
Diploma in Environmental Engineering (preferred).*

7. Experience

0-2 years experience in environmental monitoring or laboratory work.*
Freshers with relevant training may apply.*

8. Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of environmental monitoring techniques.*
Familiarity with IS / ISO / APHA / CPCB guidelines.*
Basic understanding of ISO/IEC 17025.*
Ability to work in field conditions.*
Good record-keeping and documentation skills.*
Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel)*
