Our client is a social enterprise engaged in a pursuing a movement dedicated to restoring the green cover of our planet by planting trees. Founded by Mr. Pradip Shah (Founder of CRISIL and founding member of HDFC), this movement has multidimensional impact. This initiative is trusted by more than 700 international enterprises such as Mercedes, HSBC, Michelin, and Pepsi. This movement has created over 1.4 million workdays of employment for rural/ tribal communities and have planted 18 million + trees, which will absorb 360 million kgs of CO2 per year when mature. With the commitment to support local communities, foster biodiversity, and combat climate change our client is now looking to onboard an environment specialist passionate about making an impact and helping develop impact projects. This role is ideal for someone eager to guide significant tree plantation initiatives, leveraging innovative technology for project execution and monitoring.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Project Design and Development:

- Craft comprehensive tree plantation projects, considering proposals from partner NGOs.

- Utilize GIS Mapping and Remote Sensing data to enhance project efficiency and scope.

Research and Analysis:

- Conduct thorough need assessments and secondary research to shape project concepts.

- Provide carbon sequestration estimates for project proposals.

- Perform baseline and feasibility studies, updating stakeholders on progress and outcomes.

- Create and publish impact analysis reports for each tree plantation projects.

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Engage in field visits for firsthand information gathering and stakeholder feedback.

- Foster relationships with funding entities, providing regular updates and reports.

Innovative Solutions:

- Develop and assess nature-based solutions for proactive climate action.

- Analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to inform project decisions.

Cross-functional Support:

- Assist the business development team with insights and expertise.

- Contribute holistically to various aspects of the organization as per management directives.

Qualifications:

- A passion for environmental conservation and sustainability.

- Proficiency in GIS Mapping, Remote Sensing, and related technological tools.

- Excellent academic and practical knowledge of tree species and ecology. Strong research and analytical skills.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.

This role reports to CFO and needs experience of managing a team. Incumbent will be based in Mumbai and should be able to travel to remote locations across country.
