Job Summary
The Assistant Professor of English is responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in English, engaging in scholarly research, and contributing to departmental, institutional, and community service. The role emphasizes excellence in teaching, academic research, curriculum development, and student mentorship.
Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in areas such as:
English Literature (British, American, World, Postcolonial, etc.)
Linguistics / ELT / ESL
Composition and Rhetoric
Creative Writing
Prepare course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional materials.
Use innovative and student-centered teaching methods.
Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and projects.
Mentor and advise students academically.
Service & Administration
Participate in departmental and university committees.
Assist with curriculum development and academic planning.
Contribute to accreditation, assessment, and quality assurance activities.
Engage in outreach, extension, or community-based academic activities.
QualificationsRequired
M.A. in English or a closely related field (or near completion).
Strong academic background in English studies.
Demonstrated teaching ability at the college/university level.
Evidence of research potential and scholarly engagement.

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
