Job Purpose

Reliability Centered Maintenance: Work as an RCM facilitator/ practitioner. Extract maintenance data from CMMS, analyzing asset hierarchy, co-ordination with SMEs and other stakeholders, identify failure modes and consequences, cost vs risk analysis and identifying proper recommendations. Using online RCM tools and recommendation management portals.

Reliability Culture: Act as a coordinator of reliability for the assets, influencing at all levels to increase focus on understanding and eliminating root causes of unreliability. Understand and build knowledge of the asset Reliability Management Framework, including periodic updates.

MTO (Manage Threats and Opportunities): Develop the understanding of MTO process, providing support to the production reliability teams in threat (and opportunity) identification, ranking, investigation, and close-out. Maintain the MTO database. Some previous knowledge of MTO process is advantageous.

Risk and Reliability Management: Learn the Manage Equipment Care (MEC) process. Maintain schedule for maintenance strategy reviews and conduct the review based on Risk & Reliability Management principles with tools such as PM Optimization (PMO), REM strategy reviews and PM Library where applicable. Coordinate in implement condition-based maintenance (CBM) approach and condition monitoring (CM) strategies where appropriate. Utilize reliability engineering tools (FMEA, reliability modeling, Weibull analysis, etc.) to identify and understand threats to reliability and availability.

Root Cause Analysis: Participate in Root Cause Analysis or Causal Learning Investigations as necessary to support reliability improvement or at the direction of asset leadership/senior reliability engineers. Develop strong skills for RCA methodologies, particularly 5-Why and Causal Learning.

Data Analysis and automation: Act as the custodian of reliability and maintenance data, using existing systems to monitor and report KPIs, as well as identify bad actors and threats to reliability using reliability engineering tools. Basic use of data automation tools.

Spare/Material Management: Participate in periodic reviews on critical spares, min/max inventory levels, Material Master coding and support on list of materials creation and upload into CMMS. Also help to develop understanding of linking the material management with Maintenance to identify the source of requirements and bring down the overall maintenance cost by optimizing inventory/material cost.

Financial Dimensions
In partnership with Process Managers and stakeholders, can demonstrate the advantages of structured and detailed maintenance strategy for the equipment within their appointed sites, plants and locations or OUs.

Business Dimensions
Perform reliability engineer role and other technical functions, with scope covering technical data and documents of the operating units, manufacturing sites, chemical plants, supply chain and distribution locations.

This role is expected to help rotating /static equipment engineers in implementing the standard maintenance strategy for preventive/corrective maintenance of various equipment uniformly in various operating units across the globe.

Provision, as subject matter expert (SME), for Technical Support that enables the operating units, Sites to leverage the benefits of utilizing the Engineering Services-Reliability Study, maintenance strategy to the fullest extent.

Leadership in Group and FOD efforts to Standardize maintenance strategies, tools, benchmarks, standards and best practices. May also be assigned to lead an FOD assigned Sites, OUs or Data Project Team with 2 to 10 members.

Principal results expected from the job

Multidiscipline meeting for RCM analysis, analyzing failure causes, complete RCM study and generate report.

Develop good understanding and building skills as per the Reliability engineer\xe2\x80\x99s competancy.

Help and coordinate with the Senior Reliability engineers, various activities for analyzing gaps and improving reliability of the assets.

Working with dedicated assets to understand the requirements and helping them identify gaps with the guidance from senior reliability engineers.

Steep learning curve to develop skills for various reliability tools is high desirable.

Complete reliability certifications like CMRP/CRE as agreed with the line manager.

Constantly engage with site maintenance leads, original equipment manufacturers, vendors and conduct reliability studies in consultation with site maintenance personnel/senior reliability engineers.

Interact and communicate with the site focal for reliability studies and maintenance strategies, understanding the intricacies about how the actual maintenance activities for heavy duty rotating equipment and other machinery have been planned and performed in various Units of Shell.

Understanding the functions of the various equipments and instruments and also thorough knowledge of reading/ interpreting the engineering drawings (P&IDs, PEFS, PFDs).

Managing stakeholders/ representatives of various operating units through effective communication and identifying & resolving the bottlenecks for data analysis, maintaining issue logs and use the same in implementing changes/improvments in the processes.

Educational background, qualifications and experience typically required to perform the job

Education/Experience:

Mandatory Requirements: -

University Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical/Instrument or related full-time university degree.

Minimum 5 to 6 years of overall working experience in in Oil & Gas/ Petrochemicals with experience of RCM studies. Knowledge of RCM steps, asset criticality analysis, Risk matrix and recommendation management.

Any two or all the following experiences:

Design, maintenance, troubleshooting experience and Knowledge of rotating machines such as centrifugal compressor, gas turbine, steam turbine, centrifugal pump, reciprocating compressor, screw compressor, positive displacement pump, Induced/Forced draught fan, cooler fan and blower.

Experience and knowledge in condition monitoring for rotating equipment.

Experience of reliability studies i.e. Preventive Maintenance Optimization, RAM, RCA, FRACAS, Causal Learning.

Experience in RBI / SIS/ IPF.

Desirables: -

Experience in Technical Data and Documents management including processes and tools. For example, experience in SAP PM & MM module implementation, skill in MS Office tools like Excel and Access etc.

Experience in leading team/process/projects is highly desirable.

Effective communication skill and stakeholder management is a necessary skill for the job.

Knowledge of Lean CI methodology is an added value.

Able to multi-task, prioritize and ensure delivery of priorities as promised, work without close supervision, and work through others to deliver results.

Virtual working experience is highly desirable.

Professional Engineering certification i.e. CMRP, CRE is an added value.

Proficiency in working with data analysis and automation tools like Spotfire/ Power Bi/ Python shall be an added advantage.
