Caterpillar's Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified power train, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Focus areas include batteries, fuel cells, motors, inverters, micro grid controllers, charging, energy storage systems, lifecycle solutions/services and integration of components for ePowertrain solutions across industries.
As an Engineering Team Leader for the ePT Component, you will be joining an innovative team on the cutting edge of electrification. You will have the unique opportunity to direct and lead the ePT component design projects, lead the concept, development, and design of ePT components. The ePT team is part of the Integrated Drivetrain organization and is responsible for end-to-end design and development of ePT component for multiple Caterpillar applications.
You will partner with other members of the design team as well as provide project guidance to global team members. You will be responsible for the execution and coordination of the design efforts necessary for the successful design and development of low and medium voltage power electronic and motor components. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a highly experienced team of engineers who have significant experience across Caterpillar electric drive and stationary power conversion applications.
Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities.
• Coordinating resources across product development groups value chain.
• Overseeing project progress and costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems.
• Directing project staffing; motivating and developing project team and team members.
• Work with the machine business division and drivetrain system engineering groups to establish the application requirements for power electronics components/systems
• Identify and work with other Caterpillar SMEs on aspects of the design in which team does not have the expertise to complete on their own
• Stay up to date with the latest advances in power electronics technologies and solutions
• Perform complete requirements generation, component design, simulation, validation and production development for new power inverters and converters.

Degree Requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical or equivalent engineering stream.

Technical Excellence: Extensive design and product development knowledge for components, systems, automotive or mobile drive applications

• Experience with electric drive systems is a plus

Troubleshooting Technical Problems: Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a product development environment.

• Evaluates business impact of failure and the criticality and timing of needed resolution.

• Resolves difficult or high-impact equipment and systems problems.

• Monitors machine performance and history; addresses excessive maintenance or repair needs.

• Coaches others how to resolve integration or communications problems in multi-vendor environment.

• Uses advanced diagnostic techniques and tools for unusual or performance-related problems.

Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production.
Level Extensive Experience:

• Develops organizational standards and processes in order to maximize complex product services' efficiency and effectiveness.

• Creates and introduces new techniques that expedite or simplify the development process.

• Supervises the management of multiple and diverse types of products or services.

• Develops proof-of-concept exercises to prove or disprove validity of proposed products.

• Advises on the appropriate solutions to complex product design and development problems.

• Designs working prototypes of a variety of proposed products or services.

Additional Information: This position required 5days working at office.
