What would you do?
The Document Controller - Asset Drawings is responsible for the management, control, and coordination of all documentation and technical drawings related to asset design, construction, and operations. The role ensures that asset-related drawings are properly categorized, updated, version-controlled, and made accessible to relevant stakeholders in a timely and compliant manner.
What are we looking for?
oProven experience in document control for infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects oStrong understanding of asset drawings and documentation types (e.g., GA, schematic, layout, as-built) oFamiliarity with CAD drawing formats and drawing management tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProjectWise, Aconex, SharePoint) oExperience working with metadata standards, drawing registers, and revision control systems oExcellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills oProficiency in MS Office and document control systems oAbility to work across cross-functional teams and handle multiple drawing packages concurrently oStrong communication and stakeholder coordination skills oBusiness Analysis oBusiness Process Change Management Certification in Document Control (e.g., VDCI, EDMS training) or experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS)
Roles and Responsibilities:
Set up and manage a centralized document control system for all asset drawings and associated records Maintain version control, drawing registers, and change tracking logs for all drawing types (e.g., civil, electrical, mechanical, P&IDs) Ensure drawings are correctly classified by project, asset, discipline, and status (draft, issued for review, approved for construction, as-built, etc.) Coordinate with engineering teams, external vendors, and field staff to collect, validate, and upload latest drawing revisions Monitor document workflows, approvals, and transmittals in line with internal standards and client requirements Ensure all drawings adhere to project naming conventions, metadata structures, and formatting guidelines Support audit readiness by maintaining accurate records of drawing histories and approvals Provide controlled access to stakeholders and respond to document retrieval requests promptly Assist in the final handover of drawing packages to operations or asset management teams, ensuring completeness and compliance
