What would you do? To ensure reliable performance, optimal utilization, and extended lifecycle of electrical assets--particularly power transformers--through effective asset management, commissioning supervision, and maintenance practices in alignment with utility standards and safety norms.
What are we looking for? o Enough experience in power utility, EPC, or transformer OEM/service company. o Hands-on experience in substation commissioning, transformer testing, and maintenance. o Knowledge of IEC / IS standards related to transformers and electrical equipment. o Experience with asset health monitoring tools or enterprise asset management systems is desirable. o Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. o Certification in Asset Management / Power Systems / Maintenance Engineering preferred. o Transformer diagnostics and maintenance o Site commissioning and testing supervision o Asset condition monitoring and data interpretation o Maintenance planning and execution o Root cause failure analysis (RCFA) o Knowledge of protection systems and control schemes o Strong documentation and reporting ability o Coordination with OEMs, contractors, and utilities
Roles and Responsibilities: Asset Management o Develop and implement asset management plans for transformers and associated electrical equipment (circuit breakers, isolators, CTs/PTs, etc.). o Monitor asset health indices using diagnostic tools (DGA, Tan Delta, Partial Discharge, IR tests, etc.). o Maintain detailed asset databases, performance logs, and lifecycle cost records. o Support condition-based and predictive maintenance strategies to optimize asset performance. o Assist in failure analysis and recommend corrective or preventive actions. 2. Site Commissioning & Testing o Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of transformers, switchgear, and substation equipment. o Review and ensure compliance with technical drawings, commissioning procedures, and quality standards. o Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). o Perform on-site electrical testing: insulation resistance, winding resistance, ratio test, vector group verification, and oil testing. o Coordinate with OEMs, contractors, and project teams to ensure safe and timely commissioning. 3. Transformer Maintenance & Diagnostics o Execute routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance of power and distribution transformers. o Monitor oil parameters and insulation conditions through periodic testing and analysis. o Manage refurbishment, overhauling, and oil filtration activities. o Support transformer protection and control system troubleshooting. o Maintain maintenance schedules and reports in line with OEM recommendations and utility policies. 4. Technical Documentation & Reporting o Prepare technical reports, test results, inspection notes, and maintenance records. o Update asset management systems (AMS / CMMS) with operational and maintenance data. o Support audit, regulatory, and reliability reporting requirements. o Provide technical support to procurement, planning, and operations teams. 5. Safety & Compliance o Ensure adherence to electrical safety procedures, isolation protocols, and statutory regulations. o Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents or failures. o Promote safety and reliability culture across maintenance and commissioning teams.
