Essential Requirements:
Graduate degree in Civil Engineering from an institute of repute and Master's degree in Structural engineering or Bridge engineering.
Overall Experience of more than 12-15 years in design of heavy / special bridges related structures.
Proficient in structural analysis software (such as SAP2000, MIDAS, or STAAD Pro) and software (such as AutoCAD, Revit , Tekla or SOFiSTiK).
Code Knowledge: Familiarity with relevant bridge design codes and standards, such as AASHTO, Eurocodes, or local bridge design guidelines.
Communication Skills: Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Experience in leading a team of engineers and CAD technicians.
Good written and verbal English language communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with colleagues, seniors, team members and clients.
Ability to give others confidence in their technical and professional ability and develop understanding in relation to their own discipline.
Ability to fully understand, explain, present and solve complex technical problems for technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities:
Contribute to a team of engineers and CAD technicians working on design and assessment of bridges as per Indian codes of practice.
Check design and assessment calculations and reviewing detailed drawings.
Bridge Modeling: Develop 3D bridge models using BIM software to visualize and coordinate design elements with other project stakeholders.
Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for bridge construction, considering factors such as strength, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate design options, considering technical, economic, and environmental factors.
Value Engineering: Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities, suggesting cost-effective design alternatives without compromising safety or functionality.
Construction Support: Provide technical support during the construction phase, responding to queries, reviewing shop drawings, and addressing design-related issues.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in bridge design technologies, industry best practices, and emerging construction methods.
Play a major role in the development of technical skills of the team.
Raise the profile of the organisation by publishing technical papers and making technical presentations at seminars and conferences.
Ensure technical competencies of self and team are kept up to date.
