Position Summary:
The
Engineering Manager (India office, Pune)
will provide strategic direction and oversight to technical engineering teams, ensuring seamless execution of global workshare projects. Acting as the primary point of contact, this role plays a critical part in aligning project deliverables, maintaining quality standards, and driving collaboration between international stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the effectiveness of all engineering disciplines within the India office.
Achieve project targets related to schedule, budget, quality, and delivery.
Collaborate with global workshare integration teams to establish and achieve targets.
Act as the main liaison between India and international offices (Canada, Australia, USA).
Meet regularly with discipline managers to plan allocation and utilization of staff.
Prepare manpower loading and work forecasting across departments/projects.
Ensure that discipline staff remain fully engaged with project work.
Participate in project and department meetings, resolving interdisciplinary issues.
Contribute to the development of project and departmental standards and procedures.
Ensure effective training and continuous improvement programs are in place.
Support recruitment and hiring of top engineering talent.
Conduct probationary and performance reviews for discipline managers.
Review and recommend engineering salaries in consultation with senior leadership.
Coordinate regularly with directors across global offices for alignment.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
Proven experience in planning and executing oil & gas facilities projects.
Strong background in setting and achieving workshare goals.
Exposure to global workshare projects (Canada, USA, Australia).
Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience managing multi-discipline teams.
In-depth knowledge of industry economics and trends.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in
Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
.
20+ years of EPCM experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
International work experience (North America, Australia, or India).
Strong experience managing global support office interfaces.
