  • We are looking forward for Engineering Manager to lead and shape strong cost out portfolio for electronics category in DMP team comprising PCB, PCBA, Box Build components etc. He will be responsible for working on various aspects of cost out with the primary goal of identifying, developing, and maintaining services that deliver significant cost out opportunities as well as creating a robust pipeline of executable cost out projects. He will be responsible for providing support to deal with current electronics shoratges and executing resiliancy projects. The applicant will provide a strong technical mentorship to skilled VAVE engineers, an unwavering focus on driving outcomes for the internal customers.We are looking for motivated professionals with excellent leadership skills and track record of shaping and executing strong cost out portfolio in challenging global organization.
Job Responsibilities
  • Drive and shape cost out portfolio for electronics category in line with business & Category cost out targets
  • Identify cost out opportunities in different categories through Data Analysis, benchmarking, teardown, competitor analysis and study of applicable standards
  • Builds Strategy to drive enterprise-wide strategic projects for category working along with Global Procurement Leaders, Engineering counterparts and Supply Chain team.
  • Engineering data Improvement for Electronics category (PCB, components, PCBA. and Box build components).
  • Drive productivity by supplier consolidations, key data improvements & avoiding part proliferation.
  • Coordinate with Global stakeholders and Drive project execution through Design, testing and implementation phase
  • Collaborate with Global Procurement team, Business teams, Suppliers, GSC COE teams to generate and execute Cost out project
  • Build Active and funnel project deck for all categories Drive multiple idea generation events like benchmarking, teardown, competitor analysis and study of applicable standards
  • Redesign existing parts or design new concepts; meeting customer requirement, cost target and Market related technology
  • Performs project management role from design to implementation; communicates expectations, plans, and requirements and also coordinates all work within the scope of assigned projects
  • Lead multiple projects/programs/teams related to value analysis and value engineering (VAVE) through execution of these programs/projects in a timely manner, supporting the business goals and Profit Plan objectives
  • Drive culture of Continuous Improvement and drive productivity projects through DFSS,DMAIC, Lean and Automation.
  • Create Intellectual Property documents (IPs) around new product design concepts / ideas and drive innovation from ideation through to execution
  • Develops test plans in accordance with IEC/UL standards. Creates test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation. Responsible for conducting tests by ensuring deployment of standard practices. Assesses test results, root cause analysis through test findings/failures and takes corrective/preventive actions

Qualifications

Requirement:
  • Bachelor's or Masters in Electrical / Electronics.
  • Total relevant work experience: 14+ years.
  • Significant hands-on experience with analog, digital, and power circuits development and testing.
  • Hands-on experience with power converter development and testing and with control strategies of electric drives for traction.
  • Should have hands on experience and strong knowledge of EMI / EMC standards and environmental compliances – IEC / SAE/ ISO / RoHS / REACH etc.
  • Experience on Electronics Components, PCB, PCBA and component supplier qualifications for technical aspects.
  • Preparation of technical compliance agreements with supplier for PCB and PCBA’s.
  • Hands on experience on CAM tools like CAM350, Rereview, Valor, PAD Mentor, Allegro, LT Spice .. etc.
  • Should study, understand the interpret the PCB and PCBA requirements based on the available Gerber's, fabrication, assembly notes.
  • Sound knowledge of the Design for Manufacturing and Assembly. Reflow, wave and hand soldering methodologies.
  • Knowledge of IPC7351, IPC6011/12, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-610 and member of standard development committed.
  • Sound knowledge on electronic component fabrication technology and there performance curve.
  • Knowledge on Electronic manufacturing assembly line and IPC610 certified.
  • Sound knowledge on spend data analysis and strategizing cost out project.
  • Sound knowledge in potting process, acceptance standards.
  • Experience working with Electronics Contract Manufacturers.
  • Should have strong knowledge of DFSS tools & preferably Green Belt Certified.
  • Should have ability to mentor people on complex technical issues.
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Experience in Electronics Design and hands on experience in Electronics product development life cycle including requirements management, design, development, verification & validation, qualification & certification testing. Hands on experience on building cost out portfolio and execution. Strong Drive for result. Cost out process adherence.
