Job Description

This position is responsible for managing processes and teams to develop detailed design and release configurations throughout the new product development lifecycle. This position will also be involved in the sustaining, VAVE, and quality improvement of ISC legacy products. This position is expected to work closely with various groups to fully assure a properly designed product is released to production and maintaining the mechanical design process documentation. Define and execute processes and procedures for hardware and system level specifications and requirements Define and execute processes and procedures for hardware design and hardware analysis to comply with agency approvals (UL, CSA, ATEX, IEC, MSHA, etc.) Responsible for hardware designs meeting manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability requirements Lead innovation in hardware designs that meet or exceed performance and quality goals Create, update, and maintain hardware development process and procedural documentation Enforce, and mature the corporate engineering processes Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers/designers Represent Industrial Scientific's interest regarding site specific requirements and requests Lead team to troubleshoot new or legacy products with a data-driven approach Lead team to resolve complex product issues through detailed analysis, rapid experimentations, test planning, and novel idea generation Travel to customer locations to resolve issues, collect Voice of Customer and visit suppliers to go to Gemba (travel less than 10%) BSE (mechanical or electrical) from an accredited engineering college or university Minimum 10 years of experience as a degreed engineer Demonstrated progressive experience managing a Hardware Engineering teams Experience with design best practices Experience in electronics packaging design and manufacturing Proficiency in basic computer software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team Ability to commit to and work under deadlines Demonstrated analytical skills Effective written and verbal communication skills MSE (mechanical or electrical) from an accredited engineering college or university Understanding of Computer Aided analysis tools - ideally using ANSYS software Proficiency in using Windchill PLM, Oracle EBS, and JIRA Understanding of AutoCAD Experience in statistical analysis Experience with Creo, or similar CAD software, as well as demonstrated ability to produce high-quality engineering designs Experience in project management Experience as a site leader Demonstrated understanding of Stage-Gate development process
