We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead, mentor, and grow a team of talented software engineers. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, proven leadership skills, and the ability to deliver complex projects at scale. You will play a crucial role in driving the technical vision, ensuring high performance, and maintaining a strong culture of collaboration and excellence within the engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & People Management:
  • Lead and inspire a team of engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and coach engineers on career growth, skill development, and technical best practices.
  • Manage performance reviews, goal setting, and hiring processes to build a high-performing team.
  • Technical Excellence:
  • Oversee end-to-end architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, reliable, and secure systems.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
  • Maintain technical oversight across multiple projects, ensuring code quality, best practices, and adherence to architectural standards.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and improve system performance.
  • Project Execution & Delivery:
  • Drive planning, prioritization, and execution of engineering roadmaps aligned with business goals.
  • Manage project timelines, risks, and dependencies, ensuring effective cross-functional coordination.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges and bottlenecks proactively.
  • Ensure continuous integration, deployment, and monitoring practices are followed for smooth product releases.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with product, design, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver robust, user-centric solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Represent engineering in leadership meetings and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field.
  • 8-16 years of total experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams in building large-scale, high-performance, and distributed systems.
  • Strong technical background in backend, frontend, or full-stack development, with hands-on experience in technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, Go, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern development practices such as CI/CD, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and microservices architecture.
  • Solid understanding of system design, data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in managing geographically distributed teams.
  • Exposure to agile/scrum methodologies and experience in scaling agile practices.
  • Previous experience in a product-based or high-growth startup environment.
  • Understanding of modern observability tools and DevOps best practices.
