Role Objective
To lead the Engineering & Drawings Department for millwork and doors -- ensuring that every drawing released for production or site is technically correct, feasible, optimized for manufacturing, and aligns with Quba's design intent and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Review and approve shop drawings, joinery details, and sectional elevations for all millwork and door projects.
Ensure all technical drawings comply with design intent, manufacturing constraints, and installation feasibility.
Coordinate closely with Design, Production, and Site Execution teams for technical clarity and drawing revisions.
Create and maintain engineering standards and library of joinery details (hinge, skirting, shutter, frame, molding, etc.).
Verify BOMs, hardware compatibility, and material specifications before release.
Conduct engineering feasibility checks for new design concepts or complex detailing.
Train and mentor CAD engineers/draftsmen to follow Quba's drawing standards and detail accuracy.
Liaise with vendors for hardware, fittings, and materials integration.
Ensure all drawings are version-controlled and digitally archived for traceability.
Work with the Factory team to resolve technical issues and optimize for manufacturability.
Requirements
Qualification: B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, or Interior Engineering.
Experience: 8-12 years in engineering of millwork, doors, or interior joinery with a luxury or high-end brand.
Strong command over AutoCAD, SketchUp (preferred), and technical detailing.
Expertise in joinery, hardware systems, tolerances, and manufacturing processes for wood-based furniture.
Ability to read architectural drawings and translate them into precise manufacturing details.
Good knowledge of materials (ply, HDHMR, veneer, PU, laminates, hardware) and finishes.
Experience in coordinating with site, production, and design teams for execution alignment.
Excellent documentation, communication, and leadership skills.
