Core responsibilities

Maintenance and repair:

Supervise and perform maintenance on all hotel equipment and facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and life safety systems. This includes managing the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.

Team management:

Recruit, train, and supervise a team of engineers and technicians. Assign tasks, check work, and delegate duties effectively.

Budget and asset management:

Manage the engineering department budget, oversee capital expenditure projects, and control costs for repairs and replacements.

Safety and compliance:

Ensure all building and equipment licenses are current and that the property meets all safety and regulatory requirements. This includes regular testing of fire prevention systems.

Guest satisfaction:

Conduct guest room and common area inspections to ensure high standards. Address guest issues promptly and use feedback to improve services.

Project management:

Oversee renovation projects, coordinate with vendors, and manage the purchasing of new equipment and supplies.
