As an Engineer - Track, the responsibilities include but are not limited to the production of track designs and provision of technical support throughout all stages of the design process (Feasibility through to Construction) in both plain track, station yards, depots and complex layouts, especially in the Canada region.
Assist the Senior Engineer - Track in ensuring proper project implementation, developing analysis, design and workflow procedures to facilitate high-quality, cost-effective work by others.
Conduct design reviews for track alignment and track work throughout all project phases.
Assessment of clearances and performing design analysis
Foster team building and facilitate the development of skills and expertise.
Minimum 4-6 years of working experience on infrastructure projects and detailed design of Railways and Track Design.
Track alignment design experience in various railway contexts, including heavy freight trains, passenger railways, and LRT.
Canadian Rail project experience and familiarity with Canadian and North American railway standards, including AREMA.
Keep up to date with industry best practices and, where appropriate, apply best practices within the project team environment.
Dynamic and self-motivated individual capable of taking on a technical lead role in project work, emphasizing client delivery with technical excellence.
Demonstrates outstanding written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical, and application skills, especially excellent English communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
Demonstrated calibre of working under limited supervision on track engineering projects is valuable.
Proactively identifies and resolves business, operational, and technical challenges within assigned project scope and related disciplines.
Independently handles routine and non-routine issues, escalating complex matters when necessary.
Software Skills
Demonstrated experience and strong proficiency in using Open Rail Designer, Civil 3D and Rail Modelling Software.
Should have working knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD
Demonstrated knowledge of Generative Components (GC)/ Dynamo for the automation/ any computational design tool.
Knowledge of Gauge Analysis tools.
Familiarity with ProjectWise, ACC, and SharePoint
Qualifications
Master of Science (preferably in engineering) in Transportation Engineering or a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
Professionally qualified as PEng/ CEng/ IEng / any equivalent qualification or aspiration to work on achieving is valuable
