Engineer, Software Data Ops (L08)
About the Role:
Engineer, Software Data Operations is responsible for delivering end-to-end software solutions that enable 24x7 operational reliability, automation, and innovation across T-Mobiles Data Operations Center of Excellence. This role designs, develops, deploys, and primarily maintains full stack systems, including front-end frameworks, back-end services, microservices, streaming solutions, databases, and supporting cloud infrastructure. The Engineer collaborates across teams, drives technical excellence, and champions a culture of accountability, systems thinking, and continuous improvement.

• Maintain and enhance full stack web solutions to ensure system reliability, scalability, and performance
• Build scheduled jobs and microservices to support automated and scalable processes for Data Ops platforms
• Extend and optimize data storage mechanisms using relational and non-relational databases
• Maintain cloud services using infrastructure-as-code practices for consistent and repeatable deployments
• Present new ideas, frameworks, and approaches to improve existing systems, processes, and services
• Collaborate with team members to decompose features into user stories and provide accurate effort estimates
• Support deployment, maintenance, and operational stability of production systems
• Foster a collaborative, influence-driven team culture with high individual accountability and technical depth
• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 3-5 years of hands-on experience building and supporting full stack applications
• Experience designing database schemas and writing optimized SQL
• Strong understanding of full stack architectures, web protocols, and data flows
• Ability to manage work across multiple initiatives with strong organizational and prioritization skills
• Hands-on experience developing full stack applications, including front-end and back-end components
• Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular
• Experience developing back-end services and RESTful web services
• SQL skills, including database schema design and query development
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure (preferred), AWS, or GCP
• DevOps experience using infrastructure-as-code tools and practices
• Experience with modern programming languages such as Python, NodeJS and Java
• Familiarity with build and test tools such as Maven, JUnit, Webpack
• Ability to ensure solutions scale operationally and are maintainable by others
• Experience with streaming and data processing technologies such as Spark and Kafka
• Experience building and operating microservices architectures
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices
• Experience working in agile or iterative development environments
• Cloud or platform certifications
