Purpose of the role





This role is in the Supply Chain Engineering Solutions SIM team that partner with the corporate Manufacturing & Engineering, Global Sourcing teams & work with 20+ manufacturing plants to lead & execute Storeroom Inventory Management (SIM) Initiatives.





As an Engineer specialized in MRO Inventory, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the Maintenance, Repair, and Operations inventory master data for an organization. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of MRO data, ensuring efficient procurement and inventory management processes. This role support involves managing spare parts for both capital and non-capital initiatives. The responsibility of this job includes developing advanced innovative business solutions by leveraging data, analytical tools & techniques enabling significant productivity improvements, optimize manufacturing costs, HMM, data unlock & insights and reliability solutions.



This is an individual contributor role that includes stakeholder management, project management, great communicator, coaching and mentoring the Engineers in the team

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



Manage and maintain spare parts in CMMS/EAMS/SAP ERP systems in alignment with Inventory Management Master Data Standards. Create, update and maintain master data records for MRO items, including part numbers, descriptions, suppliers, lead times, and other critical information. Ensure adherence to global and regional master data standards. Implement strategies to identify and eliminate duplicate entries in the MRO inventory, improving data quality and minimizing redundancy. Identify non-standard losses and opportunities for inventory consolidation. Develop expertise in components and inventory management to support cost reduction initiatives, including cost optimization, interplant transfer, min-max management, and contract management. Collaborate with US & India ES teams and suppliers to gather data supporting broader reliability improvement initiatives related to spare parts. Identify opportunities to convert OEM parts to MRO parts and engage preferred suppliers. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for master data management processes. Work closely with vendors and suppliers to ensure accurate, up-to-date MRO item information. Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical stakeholders, facilitating clear communication on spare parts-related initiatives. Drive operational excellence, meeting the 5Rs of SIM (Right Parts, Right Place, Right Time, Right Work, Right Cost). Provide data reporting & analysis support for broader inventory management initiatives and offer insights and recommendations based on data analysis. Prepare performance reports, conduct peer quality checks, and deliver presentations for stakeholder meetings. Communicate effectively with a broad audience, including clients, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Regularly interact with cross-functional teams/stakeholders to identify opportunity areas and assist in reducing losses. Support CMMS/SAP upgrades and enhancement projects through testing and validation, ensuring smooth transitions.
Analyse current MRO procurement and inventory management processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

TECHNICAL AND SOFT SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Experience with IBM Maximo systems (preferred) or similar CMMS/EAMS tools. 0-5 years of core experience in Reliability Engineering or Storerooms Management. Basic understanding of engineering inventory management concepts and tools. Familiarity with TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) methodology and pillars, especially PM (Preventive Maintenance) systems. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify actionable insights. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, charts, macros, etc.). Experience with continuous improvement (CI) tools, such as Why-Why Analysis, Standard Work, and Job Task Analysis (JTAs). Strong orientation towards process tools and discipline. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS







Bachelor's degree in engineering in any one of: Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Production, Electronics, Telecommunication, Instrumentation Minimum 0-5 years of relevant experience.
