We are looking to hire a key member of our R&D team at Visakhapatnam India. The R&D Engineer primarily performs routine scientific work, evaluating, selecting and applying standardized scientific procedures and techniques to assignments with clear objectives or investigations with limited variables/complex features.


Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to value creation in the work environment through broad understanding of technology relevant to professional discipline.
• Performs mass, energy and momentum balances on manufacturing processes.
• Support manufacturing test runs.
• Support troubleshooting of processes.
• Deliver process and manufacturing assessments for new product development projects.
• Support manufacturing trials.
• Advocate change in processes with sound data and rationale.
• Contribute to formulation of research work and improvement of existing processes/products under guidance of more senior staff.
• Interpret research results with a broad view on technology context.
• Design and carry out experimental programs.
• Establish contacts and networks with internal/external customers under the guidance of supervisor/senior staff.
• Discuss customer needs, propose and execute proper approaches to problem solving in consultation with more experienced staff.
• Report experimental results to internal/external customers or team members.
• Participate in the definition of own development needs in technical expertise, business, personal skills and application.
• In addition, other duties as assigned to safely perform.

• This position requires work experience acquired at the technician level or appropriate graduate level study.
• Broad understanding of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures relevant to professional discipline.
• Understanding of complex experimental work/facilities and underlying concepts.
• Ability to model chemical process operations using AspenPlus and other modeling tools.
• Ability to design process equipment based on first engineering principles
• Ability to apply thermodynamics and fluid dynamics/rheology to design and troubleshoot process equipment.
• Understanding of economic processes and manufacturing options.
• Ability to execute and analyze IP searches.
• Ability to read/understand patents in professional discipline.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional, multi-national and diverse backgrounds, both internally and externally.
• Ability to document, report and present work in written summary forms.
• Ability to conduct presentations on technical/scientific understanding of discipline.
• Ability to coach, mentor or supervise laboratory staff.
• Must be able to successfully manage small projects, timelines, and delegate to team members appropriately.

• Bachelor degree and 4+ years of relevant experience in Engineering.
• PhD or MSc and 2 years of relevant experience.
