Role Description

Risk Finance & Treasury Chief Technology Office is the technology partner to CRO and cross desk FO & PnL risk functions. You will play a part in the provision of solutions allowing Risk to manage all aspects of financial risk tech though improving data architecture, data quality and right-sourcing and ensuring effective running of related control processes.

Our team participates in the multiple activities delivering on large scale global regulatory and internal initiatives including FRTB, CCAR etc. Initiatives typically span multiple domains (FO, MRM, CRM, Finance etc.) This requires you, as part the architecture function, to work with all stakeholders ensuring clear articulation of the key data created and published by the domain. You will help drive a coherent and consistent approach to data provision and usage across the bank. Your responsibilities as an architect include working with management to strike the right balance between requirements of broader organisational strategies as well as injecting pragmatism into solutions to meet regulatory deadlines.

As an RFT CTO Information Architect you will work primarily with the Market Risk and Counterparty Credit Risk domains. You will also support the domain CIO/CIO-1 and RFT CTO in various aspects of the architecture development and realisation across Financial Risk space.

Your key responsibilities

• Work with product owners, business subject matter experts, Group Architecture and the Chief Data Office
• Ensure data is understood through your efforts supporting good data governance. Ensure data flows between domains are well understood and documented
• Participate in ensuring the domain\xe2\x80\x99s information architecture work supports the broader organizational strategies, business plans and standards
• Collaborate with business and IT teams to translate financial risk related business requirements and use cases into data models and other artefacts
• Drive confirmation of non-functional requirements such as data volumes, data retention requirements, authoritative sourcing, etc.
• Participate in producing and presenting our team\xe2\x80\x99s artefacts including logical and physical data models, domain architecture diagrams and solution proposals
• Work with stakeholders to ensure review and sign off of artifacts maintained by the team
• Support continuous improvement of the bank\xe2\x80\x99s information architecture through active participation in relevant Communities of Practice and Working Groups
• Help improve co-workers understanding of the value of good data architecture, and the role we and they play in achieving quality data
• Own execution of Group Architecture data governance controls relating to establishing data feeds into and out of Market Risk domain
• Support RFT CTO team\xe2\x80\x99s activities to meet Group Architecture obligations
• Proactively seek opportunities to pragmatically improve data governance and quality

Your skills and experience

• Ability to work unsupervised and against a plan with tight deadlines
• Demonstrated willingness to take the initiative and drive activities to completion
• Comfortable working with people at all levels \xe2\x80\x93 associate to director
• Experience with data glossary, data dictionary, naming standards and conventions
• Data modelling experience including conceptual and logical models. Modelling tool exposure (PowerDesigner version 16.x or Legend preferred)
• Ability to both present at and run data modelling workshops consisting of architects, business analysts, SMEs and data analysts
• Well-developed business and requirements analysis skills, including good communication abilities (both speaking and listening) and stakeholder management
• Understanding of system development lifecycle & project management
• Experience in collaborative tools like Confluence, SharePoint, JIRA, etc.
• Working experience in repositories like bitbucket
• Experience working in the financial industry and in particular risk technology
• Educated to degree level (minimum 2.1)
