Job Description

Key Responsibilities of an MEP Quantity Surveyor:

Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

Developing detailed cost estimates for MEP systems, including materials, labor, and equipment.

Tendering and Procurement:

Preparing tender documents, managing the tendering process, and negotiating contracts with suppliers and contractors.

Contract Management:

Managing MEP-related contracts, including reviewing, negotiating, and administering them.

Cost Monitoring and Reporting:

Tracking project expenditures against the budget, identifying cost overruns, and reporting on financial performance.

Value Engineering:

Identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality and performance of MEP systems.

Dispute Resolution:

Assisting in resolving financial and contractual disputes related to MEP works.

Risk Management:

Identifying and mitigating potential financial and operational risks associated with MEP systems.

Collaboration with Stakeholders:

Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of MEP projects.

Material Take-off:

Quantifying the materials needed for MEP installations, often using specialized software.

Post-Contract Administration:

Managing payments, variations, and claims related to MEP contracts.

Final Account Settlement:

Evaluating and finalizing all financial accounts at the end of the project.
