The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and reliability of all mechanical equipment and systems in the plant. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement to enhance equipment efficiency and plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of all mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, conveyors, turbines, boilers, etc.).
Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions to reduce downtime.
Maintain and update maintenance schedules, records, and spare parts inventory.
Ensure proper installation, alignment, and calibration of mechanical machinery.
Support plant operations during equipment commissioning, shutdowns, and overhauls.
Coordinate with other departments (electrical, production, and safety) for efficient plant performance.
Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for reliability and efficiency.
Implement and follow safety and quality standards in all maintenance activities.
Liaise with external vendors and contractors for maintenance, fabrication, or repair work.
Prepare technical reports, root cause analysis, and cost estimates for maintenance activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
from a recognized institution.
Minimum
3-7 years of experience
in plant or industrial maintenance (preferably in biofuel, chemical, power, or manufacturing sectors).
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and maintenance best practices.
Hands-on experience with pumps, valves, piping, pressure vessels, and utility systems.
Skills Required:
Strong technical and analytical skills.
Good understanding of preventive maintenance and TPM systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and P&ID diagrams.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong coordination, communication, and team management abilities.
