Job Description

A Mechanical Engineer in the cement industry designs, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots heavy machinery like crushers, mills, kilns, and conveyors, focusing on equipment reliability, uptime, and safety, by performing preventative maintenance, analyzing performance, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards to keep cement production running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Repair: Oversee routine and planned maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical failures, and perform repairs on critical plant equipment.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor equipment performance, analyze data, and implement solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all mechanical work adheres to strict occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations (ISO standards, etc.).
• Project Support: Assist with the installation, modification, and lifecycle management of new equipment and systems.
• Technical Guidance: Provide technical support and training to technicians and junior engineers.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records, reports, and histories for equipment and maintenance activities.
• Spares Management: Plan and manage spare parts requirements for maintenance activities.

Core Duties:

• Equipment Focus: Crushers, grinding mills (raw, coal, cement), kilns, coolers, conveyors, elevators, and material handling systems.
• Activities: Condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Systems: Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for effective planning.

Skills & Experience Needed:

• Hands-on experience with heavy industrial machinery, specifically in cement or related heavy industries.
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning, condition monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
• Commitment to safety and environmental best practices.
• Ability to work in a challenging, high-dust industrial environment.
