The candidate will be responsible for delivering competitive Project specific techno-commercial bids and clean handover for execution in collaboration with stakeholders, that primarily include, front end Sales teams, Central Expertise, Engineering teams, Project Delivery Office etc.


Business environment: A dedicated team handling complex and large projects across the globe (EMEAA) by offering centralized and comprehensive Bid to Detail Engineering support.


Domain: Mechanical Seal and Support Systems for Pumps for Oil & Gas, Gas Compression, Power Generation and other process industries application.

Key activities:




RFQ Handling (Pre-order Phase):

Ensure selection of seals and piping plans, sizing of sealant systems, and on-time delivery of competitive techno-commercial project proposals against Request for Quotations for Mechanical Sealing Solutions (Seals and Seal Support systems) Review, prepare and record extract of customer / project specifications Application engineering (Product selection and Sizing) Maintain activity and utilization Log / Tracker Driving standardization and cost database Validating and maintaining records of Application inputs

Techno-Commercial offer Preparation (Pre-order Phase):

Review, Interpret and Establish project specific requirements in collaboration with Global Stakeholders, from tender documents including but not limited to: Instructions to Bidders, Equipment Datasheets, Material Requisition, key delivery dates, applicable INCOTERMS, and other contractual terms & conditions Manage Techno-Commercial offers, clarifications, Exceptions and Deviations Co-ordinate with Central Expertise teams to obtain sign off for non-standard or special applications as necessary Manage techno-commercial scope for Seal Support systems (Auxiliary Systems) internally through Fluid Control teams Attend calls to clarify techno-commercial queries from OEM's and EPC's Provide investment case analysis and margin summary to Global Project Sales Managers from time to time Create / enhance the workflow processes and procedures where required Support and work on departmental strategic initiatives and objectives

Post-Order phase

Review purchase order vs quote and prepare order handover Handover techno-commercially aligned project scope & final supporting documents to post order (Engineering, Project execution etc.) Participate in Project handover meetings to facilitate clear and clean order handover to execution Teams Providing Support on Techno commercial clarifications to execution teams

To meet and exceed the business expectations in terms of quality, cost and delivery. To deliver accurate and timely techno-commercial offer & support to internal stakeholders. Adhere to company policies and procedures. To actively contribute to Continuous improvements To Support VAVE (Value Analysis and Value Engineering), NPD (New Product Development) & R&D initiatives

Qualifications

Skills and Experience:



Graduate in Mechanical / Instrumentation engineering or equivalent from reputed university, with typical relevant industrial experience of around 4 years for Engineer - Wet Seal Projects (Engineer - II)

Experience

Thorough knowledge in interpretation of customer and project specification (OEM, EPC and End user) Good application knowledge of selection, sizing and Engineering of mechanical seal and Seal support systems or similar products Hands on experience in maintaining rotating equipment or their auxiliary system will be added advantage Working knowledge in review and interpretation of project specification from OEM,EPC and End user will be added advantage Working Knowledge of API 682 & API 610 is preferred Must be a quick learner with good technical and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Team player with excellent Collaboration & Influencing skills Ability to manage Time under conflicting priorities Customer service and results oriented Good functional experience and skills with MS Office tools like Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint. Functional experience in basic CAD tool (like Solid Edge) is expected Support safe workplace cultures and compliance with Smiths EH&S Good techno-commercial and contractual aptitude and orientation Good analytical skills and Quick learner Highly target driven Customer service and business oriented Solution oriented with Customer/Vendor Ability to manage multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities and work in a fast-paced environment Ability to anticipate any potential issues and drive with contingency and mitigation plans Team player with well-developed interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication skills
