Mechanical Designer

to join our dynamic team in

Hadapsar, Pune!

Vertiv is looking for a

Mechanical CAD Design Engineer

to be part of the DC UPS mechanical Design team within the Engineering Department, based in Hadapsar - Pune. He will be mainly focused on the DC UPS products.

What kind of work will you be doing?

Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on Industrial products focusing on high-performance, cost-effective design and market leading innovation. To design new products or re-engineer existing ones, with a focus on the mechanical aspects (mainly sheet metal), collaborating with suppliers, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, being aware of the necessary product marketing inputs. To create and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material). To meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving the best trade-off between market and internal customer needs. To analyze and resolve technical problems as regards products under his/her responsibility, improving, updating, reviewing the mechanical drawings according to the information from the Production, Procurement and Logistics departments, to simplify the assembly, reducing the costs and improving the quality. A high level of experienced CAD skill combined with a good attention to details.

What will make you successful?

Technical Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. At least 1-3 years of previous working experience on similar activities, ideally in the Industrial Electrical sectors. Good knowledge of light structural work processing is mandatory. Knowledge of Electrical systems. Knowledge of Busbar Selection & Sizing. Understanding of Switchgear components used in electrical systems. Excellent knowledge of 3D/2D CAD & PLM systems, Microsoft Office tools, particularly Solid Edge & PTC Creo. Knowledge of the management computer systems. Knowledge of technical norms, company procedures of basic detailed lists. Knowledge of technical drawings. Good knowledge of Bill of Materials structure and, eventually, their configurations. Capacity of taking decisions as for solving problems. Able to support & communicate between vendors, suppliers & cross-functional teams. English - good level - Written and spoken.
