How will you make an impact in this role?
As an Engineer I you will deliver technical solutions using cutting edge technologies and industry best practices to implement cloud platform. You should have experience in architecting, deploying, automating cloud-based data platforms. You are well versed in technologies such as GCP, Terraform, BigData, APIs, Python, Github etc. You are experienced in building low code/no code IaaC module for GCP/ AWS or Azure BigData services. Be part of a fast-paced Agile team, design, develop, test, troubleshoot & optimise solutions created to simplify access to the Amex's Big Data Platform.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree would be a plus
Great to have :- GCP professional certification - Data Engineer/Cloud Architect will be preferable

  • Strong expertise in Terraform Proven experience in writing, testing, and maintaining reusable Terraform modules for GCP infrastructure, following best practices and modular design principles.
  • Deep understanding of GCP services Hands-on experience with BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, Composer, and other GCP data services, including IAM and networking configurations.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices Knowledge of state management, remote backends, policy enforcement (e.g., Terraform Cloud, Sentinel, or Open Policy Agent), and integration with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with version control and automation Proficiency in Git, GitHub/GitLab workflows, and automating infrastructure deployments using CI/CD tools like Cloud Build, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Scripting and development skills Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash for automating Terraform workflows, writing custom providers/modules, and integrating with GCP SDKs and APIs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Terraform
  • 2+ years of experience in Google Cloud Platform services - IAM, Networking, BigQuery, Spanner, Composer etc.
  • Experience in Git Management including PR reviews, maintaining code hygiene
  • Experience in Monitoring and Observability products - Grafana, Prometheus, Elf
  • Knowledge of High availability and DR setup.
  • Hands-on experience on CICD pipelines, Automated test frameworks, DevOps and source code management will be a big plus (XLR, Jenkins, Git, Stash, Jira, Confluence, Splunk etc.)
  • Experience working in Agile/SAFe framework for development
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Excellent team-player with ability to work with global team
